Injured since September 30, Ricardo Quaresma chose to recover in Portugal. "I spoke to Antonio Gaspar [National Team physiotherapist] to see if I could come here because it is better to recover and also to be near family," he explains. "I'm taking the opportunity to be with my mother and my brothers. I´m rarely with her, because Turkey is not so close. I'm happy," sayd the player, who has also had an opportunity to travel to Porto to meet friends "I was there to see the the National [the game against Denmark] with some friends. I hope to go back there with Besiktas [to League Europe]." Living in another country and with another culture, was not difficult. He was received as a hero by fans and is responding with good performances, after two difficult years with Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan. "Everything has changed. A person can have so much talent, but if you have no joy, happiness to play football and confidence in yourself, you are going anywhere. That was one thing I learned at Inter. I almost lost everything. Every good thing i had. In Besiktas returned to give me everything the joy, confidence ... and I'm happy, honestly. When I walk into that stadium and feel the warmth, passion, the love that people have for me, I can play what i know and also what i don´t.

Talking about Turkey "The country is fantastic, obviously the mentality is totally different from ours, but each country has its,The hardest thing, I think is the language,  They eat very well,  have good restaurants and good food. Now, is the language that is a little complicated ... but they speak English and there are many people who also speaks Spanish. And I also have a translator who is always walks with me ... If I understand English?  I understand myself, is just to understand better what they mean (laughs).

 "In the club which is already considered a star, the Turkish champions Besiktas, also has of special thanks from Ricardo . "They never missed a thing, that's why I say that I am happy there. In everything I needed them helped me, gave me the car, helped me find home ...", he concludes, before posing for to be photographed and finally go into the clinic in Lisbon for another recovery session, always with one target in mind: to return quickly to competition and continue to amaze fans with his football.

Did you expected to be received in that way in Istambul?
"Honestly i didn´t. When I was told the amount of people waiting for me in the airport, I thought it was a joke. . After leaving the plane and seeing so many people around me ... I could not believe it. I can´t really explain what I felt at that moment. The only thing I can say is that I felt happy because people believed in the value i have."

This madness of fans has already started in 2007 when you played for FC Porto in Inönü stadium. How was to be applauded by supporters of a rival club?"It's strange to go to a rival´s stadium and be applauded. For me it was a little strange, but as a player, I felt happy because I felt they loved my football and liked the attitude. Since then began the love, the respect and admiration they feel for me. That also gave me the strength to go to Turkey. " ...


Is it your best experience abroad?
"I think so ... Of all the clubs I've gone through this is where I feel happiest and where I feel at home, no doubt. Maybe, that´s why i´m doing good, and things are going the way I´ve always wanted. "
